Can you eat before you get an IV therapy?

Ok so I'm 16 and i might have to go to IV therapy for lymes disease. I've looked it up and everything and nothing has said anything about eating food. I know you cannot eat anything before blood work cause I've obviously done that with lymes testing and everything. So can you eat before you get an IV?

1. I know for a fact that you cant or shouldnt becasue my grandmother used to get Iv therapy all the time and she wasnt allowed they tell everyone not to so no. Best answer please? :)
2. You need to ask your doctor, it might depend on the drug. At the infusion clinic I go to they have cake and doughnut and coffee for the patients to eat while we are getting our medicine. They also have DirecTV on giant plasma TVs. It is pretty badass.
