Why and how is intravenous therapy used?
? Intravenous therapy to subdue drugs in the body's system. I am curious as to how all parts of the procedure work

- You want to be a little more specific? Almost every drug I give is intravenous. IV therapy can be anything from fluids to treat dehydration to chemotherapy used to treat cancer. Some things are given IV because that's the only way they work. Some are given IV because the patient can't take anything by mouth. Sometimes we need a drug to act quickly and that's about the best way of making that happen.
